Weed control is an important part of any grounds maintenance programme. With careful use at specific intervals of herbicides such as Roundup and Casoron, the site is kept to a high standard and is well presented.
Our operatives are all qualified in the use of herbicides, in accordance with our Health and Safety Policy and Regulations in place for the use of pesticides.
Japanese Knotweed
Under the Wildlife and Countrywide Act 1981, Japanese Knotweed must be handled in the correct manner. ‘It is an offence to plant or otherwise encourage the growth of Japanese Knotweed’. This could include cutting the plant or roots and disturbing surrounding soil if not correctly managed.
We offer effective methods of treatment of Japanese Knotweed, each site is surveyed for the most appropriate solution.
This would usually be in the form of either a spraying programme of eradication, or excavation which includes the duty of care for the disposal of controlled waste.
We provide a weed control service to SWFC around the stadium, training ground and car parks during the growing season from April to October. We provide details and a record of herbicide applied and conditions during spraying each visit.
